Elena Gomez was born and raised in the South of England and studied illustration at Harrow College, (The University of Westminster), London.

Having spent every summer of her life in Spain, Elena cites the main influences to her work as being the landscape and environment of Andalucia and her great uncle, Erasmo Fernandez, a painter and potter. Elena shares a studio with her Gibralterian father, an architect, and her brother who is a filmmaker. She says "My whole family is creative, even the dog can draw!"
